World famous management expert visits University of Exeter Business School

Henry Mintzberg joined an international group of managers and faculty at the University of Exeter Business School as part of the ‘Roundtable’ series created by the Centre for Leadership Studies (CLS). The series has been designed and run by CLS for many years and the participation of Henry Mintzberg is the result of a long standing academic collaboration with Professor Jonathan Gosling, Director of the Centre.

Professor Mintzberg is an expert on management and business strategy and the author of more than 150 articles and 15 books on the subject. He is currently the Cleghorn Professor of Management Studies at the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University in Montreal and has twice won the McKinsey Award for publishing the best article in the Harvard Business Review.

He presented his theories and participated in workshops with more than 40 practicing managers drawn from nine different countries including Mexico, Korea and Peru. As Professor Jonathan Gosling Director of CLS commented ‘The round table format is designed as part of the focus of the School on connecting management education to the real-time managerial challenges of participants. We are able to add to this some of the best intellectual resources worldwide. There are few places in the world where students can interact and learn from such an eminent expert in the field of management theory and practice over a five day period. I’m very pleased that Exeter is one of this elite group.’
