Re-selling books could be big business

Enterprising students start book business

Two budding entrepreneurs in their second year at the Business School have started a company that facilitates the buying and selling of textbooks between students, called ‘Sell My Book’.

Chris Kilroy and Delie Kastner have spent the last year accumulating books for sale and now have hundred’s in their collection, ready to be offered to other students this term.

As Chris explains ‘Not everyone can afford to buy their text books new but it’s been difficult to get hold of second-hand ones. We hope that this new business will provide a win-win solution for everybody.’

The students have been helped in getting started by the University’s Innovation Centre, which has a specific resources allocated to supporting entrepreneurial and creative ventures by students. Delie Kastner added ‘We’re really grateful for the assistance we’ve had from the team at the Innovation Centre. The mentoring from experienced business people has been particularly valuable in getting Sell My Book off the ground.  We’re hoping it will become a long and fruitful partnership.’
