Career Ready Specialism

Module description

The purpose of this module is to enable you to broaden your academic knowledge, and personal development experience by studying one or more elective modules outside of the MBA, drawing from a masters (level 7) module offered by the University of Exeter.  The additional module/s will be agreed and approved by the MBA Programme Director and may vary from each academic year.  You will attend lectures as scheduled and complete formative and summative assessment as set by the module lead. Dependent on the credit bearing arrangements for the electives, credits will be counted as an MBA option and assessed by a combination of assessment set by the module lead of the chosen elective.

Expectations about prior knowledge and pre-requisites will depend on the individual modules offered.

Module aims

The Career Ready Specialism module on the MBA enables you to:

 

  • broaden your knowledge in specific subject areas.
  • broaden your skills in a specific area of knowledge.  
  • network with international students from across other Masters programmes at the University of Exeter.
  • promote the acquisition and application of team working with participants from other Masters programmes.
  • align specific areas of knowledge towards an area of employability.

Re-assessment notes

The re-assessment of each assessment component will take the form of an improved version of the respective individual assignment (with the previous topic of the essay).

Syllabus plan

The modules on offer will consist (approximately 28 hours) of classroom-based/synchronous teaching and learning supported by asynchronous materials. You will need to review the specific module descriptor of those offered as electives to understand the module aims, ILOs and assessment as this will vary for each one.
