Sustainability does not fit neatly into any one particular management discipline. It is a way of thinking and acting and every facet of an organisation needs to embrace sustainability for productive change to occur. For this reason in Stage 3 of the programme we take a more strategic perspective.

Leadership Development
We aim to develop leaders and managers capable of running organisations in a rapidly changing, complex and global business environment. Effective leadership in such circumstances requires a particular mind-set and range of skills. We will explore the competencies required for effective leadership and will work with you to build on your strengths and help overcome weaknesses. Effective leaders require exceptional communication skills, and we will help develop your listening, report writing, presenting, debating and public speaking skills. Uniquely, we will introduce you to the skills of communicating effectively with the press and TV media in crisis situations.
As an agent of change in organisations you will also need to be skilled in negotiation, facilitation and conflict management. We will use role-play, simulation and consultancy assignments to enhance your capabilities in these areas. Leaders in the new global market place need to be able to operate and collaborate effectively with managers in very different types of organisation. We will develop your sensitivity to different stakeholder perspectives and explore the practical implications for decision-making and leading change.
Leaders also need to be strategic and critical thinkers, challenging the status quo and thinking creatively to achieve responsible business growth. We will help develop your ability to think out-side the box and in ways that can achieve transformational business change.
