Morgen Witzel

I studied history at the University of Victoria in Canada and wrote a master’s thesis on diplomacy in the Renaissance. After moving to the UK in 1987 I went over to the dark side, joining London Business School first as a research officer, then as a freelance contributor and adjunct lecturer. I moved to Devon in 2000 and began lecturing at the University of Exeter Business School in 2002, primarily on the MBA Programme.

I am also a professional writer and have published 35 books, mostly on aspects of management, leadership and ethics.  I have published around 2000 articles, essays, reviews and notices for publications including the Financial Times, the South China Morning Post, Toronto Globe and Mail and Los Angeles Times. I edited Corporate Finance Review from 1999-2017, and from 2002-2020 was a regular columnist with The Smart Manager, a major Indian business magazine.

My current interests focus around leadership and ethics. I am currently editing a book on leadership in the post-pandemic era, and working on a new project on dark leadership.
