Graduate launches entrepreneurial support network in Boston

MBA graduate Stewart Noakes recently helped to successfully launch TechHub, an entrepreneurial network which nurtures and supports start-up businesses, in Boston, USA.

TechHub creates spaces around the world for tech entrepreneurs to meet, work, learn and collaborate. It offers access to advice and mentoring to help technology start-ups to develop faster and increase their chance of success.

The launch event for TechHub Boston took place on the 30th of April 2015 and was a great success, attended by the British Consul General, the Mayor of Somerville and the former Governor of Massachusetts.

For both Stewart and his co-founder Simon Towers the launch has been a personal journey, as they worked with Techhub, using their own savings and time to bring the support network to the USA.

Stewart (MBA, 2011) said “By bringing TechHub to Boston we are hoping to make a real contribution to people’s lives – we are looking forward to engaging with local communities and co-ordinating support for start-ups.”

The new hub in Boston is the first in the USA and joins other hubs across the world from London to Bangalore.

As well as his work with TechHub, Stewart also currently holds the position of 'Expert in residence' at the University’s Innovation Centre in Exeter ( His wife, Lisa Noakes is currently finishing her One Planet MBA and is set to graduate in January 2016.
