Lecturer and Research Fellow William Casely
Nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs
In order to create a module with a difference, Lecturer and Research Fellow William Casely (MBA, 2011) seeks expertise from Business School alumni, alongside his own extensive business experience, to help his students’ entrepreneurial ideas become a reality.
His MBA module ‘Entrepreneurship: Starting Successful New Ventures’ utilises field visits to successful small companies, and talks from entrepreneurial alumni to teach his students about what makes a business work.
Alumni who have generously given talks include Nick Hungerford (Business and Management 2002), CEO of online investment management service Nutmeg.
”To succeed in business, you need perseverance,” he said. “That, and the will and humility to surround yourself with people who are better than you. Continue to do those two things consistently and you can’t go far wrong.”
Speaker Rob Holmes (Geography 1990), who Co-Founded The Gro Company, gave an inspiring lecture to William’s students in which he imparted his Top 10 Tips for Entrepreneurial Success.
