Building Success: Graduate secures job in De Boer UK

Nick Henderson-Williams (Business and Management, 2014) has recently become the second graduate from Exeter to secure a place in the country’s leading structures company.

De Boer, a supplier of temporary structures for events and conferences, has worked on many high profile construction projects such as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the Ryder Cup and the London Olympic Games.

“My first project was at Lords Cricket Ground, second at Newmarket Racecourse and I am currently working on some of the structures at Winter Wonderland in London” said Nick. “It is a lot of responsibility but I am really enjoying it, I look forward to developing my skillset and working on more amazing projects.”

John Cochrane, De Boer UK Sales Director- Events, commented “Nick comes to De Boer full of enthusiasm and fresh ideas. He will be getting involved in all aspects of the business from building the structures to logistics training and client interaction and negotiation. We are very pleased to welcome him to the team.”

Nick cited the Business Schools Event management module, which looks into the principles and practices of managing events, as the root of his ambition and success. “I would like to give a huge thanks to lecturer Paul Barton, who convened the module, for helping to inspire me and kick start my career in events” he said.
