Rose joined the University of Exeter Business School as a lecturer in 2021. She currently lectures Qualitative Research and Consumer & Market Analysis in the Marketing and Business Strategy dept. Prior to this Rose taught at Plymouth University and was module leader for two degree programmes at University of Plymouth International College. She taught a pre-Master's programme which provided students with an introduction to business research and the environment in which it operates, as well as teaching a sustainable tourism module.

Throughout her life, places of work, the natural world and her general outlook have greatly influenced a keen interest in sustainable business practices, corporate social responsibility and slow tourism. Rose managed her own hospitality business for four years. Before that she had a 13 year career as a systems administrator for a large multinational corporation, maintaining management information systems, planning backup strategies and running a day-to-day information retrieval service as well as helping to migrate a manufacturing plant from the UK to the Czech Republic.
