Dr Shan Hua joined the Xfi - Centre for Finance and Investment at the University of Exeter Business School as a Research Associate in April 2013. She completed her BSc in China, and obtained her MSc in Financial Mathematics and PhD in Finance from the University of Exeter.
Her research interests lie in the fields of empirical asset pricing, the value premium and valuation effects of climate change. She currently works on the ESRC funded project “Cost of Capital and Asset Pricing in the UK”.

Dr Shan Hua’s research interests cover empirical asset pricing, the value premium and valuation effects of climate change. Her PhD has investigated the financial market evaluation of firm’s carbon emission performance, both at firm level and portfolio level and with respect to cash flow expectation and cost of capital effect. The research has also involved in corporate governance and shareholder theory.
The current project on which she is working is the “Cost of Capital and Asset Pricing in the UK”. She is going to update the existing factors, testing alternative factor models and estimating implied cost of capital, etc.
