Whilst at the Centre, Sarah covered dual roles of Benefit Enquiry Telephony Agent and Site Coach, gaining qualifications in NVQ Business and Administration Level 3, Chrysalis Management Development Course, and qualified Lean Practitioner. In the last few months of her employ with the DWP, Sarah was working on two Lean projects for the DWP, aiming to remove waste and errors from processes using the knowledge and experience of the frontline staff, and she was also one of six Practitioners who delivered the roll-out of ‘Lean Thinking and Principles’ to the Centre workforce.
Sarah has also worked as a pub landlady in Plymouth for five years, after which she spent a year and a half travelling the world, visiting places such as New Zealand, Indonesian Borneo, and Nepal. She has also hiked 1,500 miles of North America’s Appalachian Trail and intends to return some day to complete the remaining 675 miles.
