Dr Pu Yang joined Exeter Business School in October 2022 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Sustainable Investment. She obtained her PhD in Climate Change Economics from University College London (UCL) in 2022.  

Her research interests are in macroeconomics, carbon finance (carbon valuation and social cost of carbon), and climate policy. Specifically, she the social cost of carbon to support policy appraisals and working on policy evaluations to motivate low-carbon actions. Resulted research papers are published in high-impact journals (e.g., One Earth and Global Environmental Change) and cited by policy documents and newspapers. She has presented at conferences such as IIASA Scenarios Forum, UK-China Workshop on Energy and Climate Change Economics, China-Japan Joint Workshop on Sustainable Management of Cities and Regions under Disaster and Environmental Risks, and International Conference of Applied Energy. Her research contributions are recognized by several international awards, including the Self-Financed Outstanding Scholarship Awardees from China Scholarship Council and the Chinese Student Award from Great Britain China Educational Trust.
