Helen joined Exeter University in November 2013. She is currently evaluating an innovative care model to enhance recovery of patients admitted to hospital with acute medical illness, at Torbay Hospital (South Devon NHS Healthcare Foundation Trust). Funded by the Torbay Medical Research Fund.

Career

Helen is a Chartered Physiotherapist with 20 years’ professional clinical experience across the NHS, private healthcare and elite sport, including senior management roles, professional lead responsibility (for NHS Devon) and education and training experience (design and delivery).

Research interests

Helen's principle research interests lie in health service research, in particular evaluating complex healthcare interventions.

PhD Title: Enhanced Recovery in Acute Medicine: A realist Evaluation.

Supervisors: Professor Andi Smart and Associate Professor Rob Anderson.
