Dominic joined the Business School as full time Graduate Careers Manager in December 2013. He previously spent four years working with the University’s central careers service as its Global Employability Consultant where he designed and developed the international employability services from scratch, culminating in the delivery and support of over 190 international work placements in 2012/13 and an international employer network of over 350 businesses.

Prior to this he set up, and for five years, ran his own consultancy business specialising in heritage consultancy with a client portfolio including The Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Archives, English Heritage, The National Trust, The Church of England, The Museums Libraries and Archives Council and numerous South West museums and other heritage organisations. During this time he was also made a University Fellow at the University of Exeter’s Centre for Medical History as an outcome of a series of Wellcome Trust funded projects he secured with the Centre.

Up until 2005 Dominic spent eight years at the University’s School of Education & Lifelong Learning as a Research Fellow (and project manager) in e-learning. In this role he worked on projects with Intel, the NHS, BT, ICL, numerous South West SMEs, and a wide range of heritage organisations. He designed and was lead tutor on the MEd in Cultural Heritage Education and also taught on both the PGCE and BA Childhood Studies programmes.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Managing the development and operational delivery of undergraduate careers & employability services, including the With Industrial Experience year in industry and Business Experience work placements
  • 1:1 employability consultations with students (UG & PG)
  • Liaising with employers, professional bodies and alumni to enrich and enhance employability provision and increase engagement with students
  • Managing the Careers Team
