Bob Parker

Emeritus Professor


Professor Parker’s main research interest is the accountancy profession worldwide in its international and historical contexts. His most recent work has been on: major contributors to the British profession in the twentieth century; English chartered accountants overseas, 1880-1914; and the early career of George O. May, an influential American accountant born, educated and trained in Devon.

He is a member of the editorial boards of leading British and Australian refereed journals, and is the co-author of a book on Comparative International Accounting which reaches its 12th edition in 2012.
