Becky joined the Business School in March 2015 as Careers Consultant for MBA & Masters students, with responsibility for developing the Careers Programme for these clients.

With a passionate interest in personal development and education, Becky completed her PGCE then taught English in the UK and overseas, lectured at the Dubai campuses of the University of Wollongong, the American University and Middlesex University, before graduating from the University of Strathclyde with a PG Dip in Career Guidance. She was recruited to create and manage the first Careers and Employability Service at the University of Middlesex Dubai, which quickly reached QAA standards with provision for Foundation, Undergraduate and Masters students from around the world.

Simultaneously pursuing an interest in literary analysis and reception, Becky completed an MPhil with distinction from the University of Glasgow on reading the poetry of Carol Ann Duffy, then a PG Dip in Applied Linguistics from the University of Lancaster. This led to success as the curator of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature (Dubai), twice voted ‘Best Festival in the Middle East’.

With an international perspective gained from 20 years’ work experience in the Middle East, Becky returns to the University of Exeter from where she launched her career with a BA Hons in English.
