Beccy joined the Business School in 2019 as a Senior Lecturer in Business Analytics. She is Programme Director for the MSc Business Analytics and BSc Business Analytics, and member of the Core Management Group for the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Environmental Intelligence: Data Science & AI for Sustainable Futures.
Beccy joined the University in 2016 to lead the Environment Theme team in Innovation, Impact and Business. Prior to this she was Head of Emerging Markets at the UK Met Office, where she focussed on weather and climate services for a number of industries including insurance, agriculture, water, retail, building and construction. Following a PhD in Applied Mathematics, Beccy started her career as an Investment Analyst in the Investment Management sector, before moving to the Met Office. All of her roles have been at the interface of science, research, innovation and business, and she is particularly interested in the use of environmental data to support business decision making.

Beccy has worked in various roles outside of academia and is a strong advocate of engaged research and knowledge exchange, including via student projects.

Beccy’s teaching interests are focussed on use of data and analytics in business decision making. She is particularly interested in the use of environmental data and environmental analytics in a business context.
